Privacy Policy
La Grange Window Coverings is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website, schedule a consultation, or use our window treatment services.
Information We Collect
When you interact with La Grange Window Coverings, we may collect the following personal information to facilitate your consultation and service experience:
- Name, to personalize your consultation and service records
- Email address, to send appointment confirmations, order updates, and product information
- Phone number, to coordinate scheduling and communicate about your project
- Home address, to schedule and conduct in-home and on-site consultations, window measurements, and professional installations
- Window and room specifications , measurements and notes gathered during in-home and on-site consultations to ensure accurate ordering
We collect this information when you submit a contact form on our website, call our office at (707) 582-1637, email us, or provide details during an in-home or on-site consultation.
Information Collected Automatically
When you browse this website, some information is collected automatically by the technologies described in Cookies, Analytics & Tracking below:
- Usage and device data, such as the pages you view, the referring site or search engine, your device and browser type, and an approximate, city-level location. Some of this is collected only if you accept optional Google Analytics; some is collected by our CRM platform on every visit.
- Consent records, including the date, time, IP address, and the exact disclosure text shown to you when you check a consent box on our form.
- Server logs and security telemetry, used to keep the site available and to detect abuse.
We do not use any of this automatically collected data for advertising, and we do not combine it with data purchased from third parties.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect to provide our window treatment services and to run and improve our business. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Schedule and conduct free in-home and on-site consultations across Sonoma County
- Communicate with you about your project, including appointment reminders and order status updates
- Accurately measure, order, and install your custom window treatments
- Process orders with our manufacturer partners, including Hunter Douglas, Somfy, and Hartmann & Forbes
- Provide post-installation support, warranty service, and follow-up communication
- Marketing analysis and business decisions, meaning we analyze inquiries, orders, service areas, product interest, and website activity to understand demand, measure which of our efforts work, plan inventory and staffing, and decide where and how to market our services
- Send you marketing communications about our products, offers, and updates, but only through channels you have separately agreed to, such as the marketing text-message program described below. Consent to marketing messages is always optional and can be withdrawn at any time
- Improve our website experience and service delivery, including through aggregated and de-identified usage data
Using your information for our own marketing analysis and business planning is an internal use. It does not mean we sell or share your personal information, and it does not add you to any marketing list you did not opt in to. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information below.
SMS & Text Messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All of the categories of information sharing described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. Your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in status, and the consent record associated with it are never sold, rented, traded, or disclosed to any third party for their own marketing or promotional use, and they are never included in any lead list, data broker feed, affiliate referral, or partner marketing program. The only parties that ever receive this information are the vendors that operate the messaging service on our behalf (our CRM and messaging platform, LeadConnector / HighLevel Inc., and the underlying telecommunications carriers and aggregators required to physically deliver a message to your handset). Those vendors are contractually restricted to delivering messages we send and may not use your number for their own purposes.
How You Opt In
We send text messages only to people who have given us prior express written consent. Consent is collected through the consultation request form on this website, where you must actively check an unchecked box next to the disclosure for the program you are joining. We do not use pre-checked boxes, implied consent, bundled consent, or purchased phone lists, and we never add a number to a messaging program because it was given to us verbally, printed on a quote, or obtained from a third party.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. You can request a consultation, place an order, and receive installation and warranty service from us without ever opting in to SMS. We record the date, time, IP address, and the exact disclosure text shown to you at the moment you consent, and we retain that record for at least five years (see Retention Periods below).
The Two Messaging Programs
We operate two separate SMS programs with separate consent checkboxes. Opting in to one does not opt you in to the other, and you may leave either one independently.
- Non-marketing (transactional) messages. Messages about our products and services as they relate to your project: appointment scheduling and confirmations, consultation reminders, measurement and installation windows, order status and production updates from our manufacturer partners, delivery coordination, warranty and service follow-up, and replies to questions you send us. The disclosure shown on the form reads: “By checking this box, I consent to receive non-marketing text messages from La Grange Window Coveringsabout Our Products and Services. Message frequency varies, message & data rates may apply. Text HELP for assistance, reply STOP to opt out.”
- Marketing and promotional messages. Special offers, discounts, seasonal promotions, new product announcements, and similar updates. The disclosure shown on the form reads: “By checking this box, I consent to receive marketing and promotional messages including special offers, discounts, new product updates among others, from La Grange Window Coveringsat the phone number provided. Frequency may vary. Message & data rates may apply. Text HELP for assistance, reply STOP to opt out.”
Message Frequency, Rates, and Carriers
Message frequency varies. The number of messages you receive depends on your project activity and on how often we have something to tell you. Transactional messages are sent as events occur, such as when an appointment is booked or an order ships, so there is no fixed schedule. Marketing message volume also varies from month to month. We do not commit to a fixed number of messages per month, and you can leave either program at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply according to the plan you have with your mobile carrier; La Grange Window Coverings does not charge you for text messages, but your carrier may. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to Opt Out or Get Help
- Reply STOP to any message to be removed from that program. You will receive a single confirmation message and then no further messages from that program. You may also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT.
- Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us directly at (707) 582-1637 or through our contact form.
- You may also ask us to remove your number by phone or through our contact form at any time, and we will honor the request whether or not you use the STOP keyword. Opting out of SMS does not remove you from phone or email communication about an order already in progress, and it does not cancel an order.
Our SMS programs are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older who are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided. If you change or give up your mobile number, please tell us so we do not message its next owner.
Information Sharing
La Grange Window Coverings does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited information with the following parties strictly to fulfill your service:
- Hunter Douglas , for product warranty registration and order processing as an authorized dealer
- Somfy , for motorization product registration and warranty purposes
- Hartmann & Forbes , for custom natural fiber shade orders
We may also disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of La Grange Window Coverings, our customers, or the public.
The categories of sharing described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Manufacturer partners such as Hunter Douglas, Somfy, and Hartmann & Forbes never receive your mobile number or your SMS consent status. See SMS & Text Messaging above for full details.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our website uses SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers. Customer records are stored securely and access is limited to authorized personnel who need the information to perform their job duties.
Cookies, Analytics & Tracking
This section describes every tracking technology that runs on this website. We use two categories of technology: technologies that are necessary to operate the site and our consultation process, which always run, and optional Google Analytics, which stays off unless you accept it.
What we do not use. This website does not use Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, TikTok Pixel, any other advertising or retargeting pixel, or session-recording and screen-replay scripts. We do not build advertising profiles about you and we do not track you across other websites. Web fonts are self-hosted at build time, so loading this site does not call out to a font provider.
Google Analytics 4 (optional, off until you accept)
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-7L982C6LZJ), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use our site so that we can improve it. Google acts as our service provider and processes this data on our behalf.
Analytics is disabled by default. We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Before any Google script loads, analytics storage is set to “denied,” which means Google Analytics sets no analytics cookies and collects no identifiable data. It is enabled only if you click Accepton our cookie banner. If you click Decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics remains off and no analytics cookies are written. Advertising signals (ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization) are set to “denied” permanently and are never enabled, whatever you choose.
If you accept, Google Analytics collects: a randomly generated, pseudonymous client identifier stored in a cookie; the pages you view and the order you view them in; the date, time, and duration of your visit; the referring website or search engine that sent you here; and your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, and approximate, city-level geographic location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or home address to Google Analytics. Google Signals and advertising personalization are switched off in the tag itself on every page of this site, so Google Analytics does not collect cross-device or advertising audience data about you here, and we do not use Google Analytics data for advertising.
The analytics cookies, set only after you accept, are _ga and _ga_7L982C6LZJ, which distinguish one visitor from another and persist for up to two years unless you delete them. Analytics data is retained in our Google Analytics property for 14 months, after which Google deletes the user-level and event-level records automatically. Google may process this data on servers in the United States.
How to opt out of Google Analytics. You can click Decline on our cookie banner, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, delete or block cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every site you visit. You can review how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy.
LeadConnector CRM tracking (always active)
We use LeadConnector (HighLevel Inc.) as our customer relationship management and messaging platform. LeadConnector powers our consultation request forms and the delivery of the emails and text messages you consent to receive. Because it is the system of record for your consultation request, its tracking script is loaded on every page of this site and is not gated behind the cookie banner. It runs whether or not you accept optional analytics.
We want to be precise about what that script does, so you can make an informed choice. It loads from link.msgsndr.com, and it records page views and session activity on this site and associates them with your consultation request if and when you submit one, so that we know which pages a prospective customer looked at before contacting us and so a submitted form is correctly attributed. It may set cookies or use local storage for that purpose, and it may read your IP address and user agent. When you submit a form, your browser also communicates with leadconnectorhq.com.
LeadConnector processes this information solely on our behalf as a Service Provider under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not authorize LeadConnector to use it for its own marketing, to sell or share it, or to combine it with data from other businesses. If you would prefer this tracking not to run, you can block link.msgsndr.com with your browser's content or cookie blocking settings, or by using a tracker-blocking extension, and the rest of the site will continue to work. You may also contact us and ask us to delete any record associated with you.
Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off: Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our consultation form from automated spam and bot abuse and is provided by Google LLC; the form session used by LeadConnector to process your submission; and local storage on your own device that remembers your cookie banner choice so we do not ask you again. These are not used to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out: Google Analytics is kept disabled, no cookie banner is shown to you, and we display a visible “Privacy Respected” indicator. No further action is required on your part. Please note that GPC does not by itself stop the strictly necessary technologies or the LeadConnector CRM tracking described above, which are not used for advertising and are not sold or shared. You may also control cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Your Rights (California Residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the following rights regarding their personal information:
- Right to Know, you may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Right to Delete , you may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to Opt-Out , you have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: La Grange Window Coverings does not sell personal information)
- Right to Non-Discrimination , you will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights
- Right to Correct , you may request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
- Right to Limit , you may request that we limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information
2022 Lookback Right
In accordance with the 2026 expanded CCPA/CPRA lookback mandate, California residents may submit “Requests to Know” that extend back to January 1, 2022. La Grange Window Coverings maintains records sufficient to honor these requests for the full lookback period. To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us using the information below.
Authorized Agents
Under California Civil Code §1798.140(b) and California Code of Regulations Title 11, §7063, you may use an authorized agent to submit a request to know, request to delete, request to correct, request to opt-out of sale/share, or request to limit the use of sensitive personal information on your behalf.
For us to act on a request submitted through an authorized agent, the agent must provide all of the following:
- Written, signed authorization from you (the consumer) granting the agent permission to act on your behalf for the specific request; ora power of attorney executed pursuant to the California Probate Code §§4000–4465.
- Verification of the agent's identity (a copy of valid government-issued photo identification).
- Verification of your identity directly with us, sufficient to confirm that the personal information we hold relates to you (we may match your request against information we maintain about you).
If the agent submits a power of attorney under California Probate Code §§4000–4465, we may rely on the power of attorney in lieu of the written authorization and consumer-side verification described above.
We will deny a request submitted by an agent that does not include the required proof. We do not charge a fee for processing authorized-agent requests except as permitted by law.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Our website automatically detects and honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals transmitted by your browser. When a GPC signal is detected, we treat it as a valid opt-out request under the CCPA/CPRA and display a visible “Privacy Respected” confirmation indicator. No additional action is required on your part. La Grange Window Coverings does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Notice at Collection
At or before the point of collection, we inform you of the categories of personal information being collected and the purposes for which it will be used. When you submit a consultation request form, a clear disclosure is presented alongside an affirmative consent mechanism. We do not use “implied consent,” pre-checked boxes, or dark patterns to obtain agreement.
Retention Periods
We retain each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Policy, including our own marketing analysis and business planning, and as required to comply with our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations. The periods below are the maximum we hold each category in identifiable form:
- Consultation requests & lead-form submissions , up to seven (7) years from your last interaction with us. We keep this history to understand demand over the multi-year cycle on which homeowners replace window treatments, to measure and plan our marketing, and to re-engage past enquiries. After that period we delete or de-identify the record unless you have become a customer or the law requires us to keep it longer.
- Customer order & warranty records , for the longer of (a) the duration of the applicable manufacturer or installation warranty, or (b) seven (7) years after final installation, to satisfy California tax, accounting, and consumer-protection record-keeping requirements.
- TCPA / SMS consent records , we retain consent timestamps and the exact disclosure shown for at least five (5) years (four-year federal statute of limitations plus a buffer).
- Email correspondence & service inquiries , up to seven (7) years, then deleted or de-identified unless tied to an active order or a legal obligation.
- Sensitive personal information , retained only for as long as needed to perform the requested service or comply with law, and only used for the limited purposes you authorized. We do not retain sensitive personal information for marketing.
- Server logs & security telemetry , rotated after 90 days unless retained for active fraud or abuse investigation.
- Aggregated & de-identified data , we retain data that has been aggregated or stripped of identifiers, so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you, indefinitely, for long-term marketing analysis, trend reporting, and business planning. Because this data is no longer personal information, it is not subject to the periods above, and we commit not to attempt to re-identify it.
When a retention period ends, we either delete the record or de-identify it so it can no longer reasonably be linked to you. You may at any time submit a Right-to-Delete request to remove personal information we are not otherwise required to retain by law; honoring such a request does not require us to delete aggregated or de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We also do not “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA definition. No paid advertising trackers (Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion, TikTok Pixel) are loaded on this site.
We do use Google Analytics, as described above, and we want to be transparent about how it relates to this right. Under the CPRA, analytics can amount to “sharing” when it is wired to advertising products. Ours is not: advertising signals are permanently denied, and Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in the tag configuration on every page, so the data is used to measure our own site and not to target you with advertising anywhere else. Google acts as our service provider, not as an independent advertiser. Analytics is also off entirely unless you accept it. If we ever changed this, we would update this policy and provide a working opt-out before doing so.
If you would still like to submit a formal opt-out request, including for any future changes to our practices, you can:
- Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, we automatically treat the signal as a valid opt-out for every visitor.
- Use our contact form and include “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in your message.
- Call us at (707) 582-1637 and ask to submit a CPRA opt-out request.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days as required by law.
